Our care services
Night time care at home
Someone in the house overnight, so the rest of the family can sleep. We cover Plymouth, Torbay, Newton Abbot and Teignmouth.
- Three different overnight options
- Registered with and inspected by the Care Quality Commission
- Respite so a family carer can rest
Regulated by the Care Quality Commission. See our rating and the full inspection report.
Three ways we cover the night
Families choosing overnight support are usually comparing these three, so they are set out side by side rather than hidden behind tabs.
If you are not sure which fits, ring us and we will talk it through honestly.
Not sure where to start?
Most families ring us before they have worked any of it out. That is completely normal, and a good place to begin.
What overnight support can include

Comparing the three options
Sleeping night
The carer sleeps in the house and is there if they are needed during the night.
Best when nights are usually settled but someone should be there.
Waking night
The carer stays awake and available right through the night.
Best when support is needed several times a night.
Night time respite
Overnight cover so a family carer can get a proper night of sleep.
Best when the person caring needs to rest, regularly or as a one-off.

Questions families ask us
What is the difference between a sleeping and a waking night?
On a sleeping night the carer sleeps in the house and is there if they are needed. On a waking night the carer stays awake and available throughout. Which one suits depends on how often support is needed overnight.
Can we use it just for respite?
Yes. Night time respite exists so a family carer can get a proper night of sleep, whether that is regularly or as a one-off.
How long can a night carer stay?
Visits run from one hour up to twenty-four hours a day, so overnight cover can be arranged around what is needed.
What areas do you cover?
Plymouth, Torbay, Newton Abbot and Teignmouth, plus the surrounding towns and villages. If you are not sure whether we reach you, just ask.
What will it cost?
Care is priced by what is actually needed, so there is no single figure we can honestly put on this page. What we can do is explain what shapes the cost, and point you to the funding routes that might apply.
Could you do this work? We are recruiting carers across Devon, and no experience is needed to start.
Ready to talk about night time care?
There is no pressure and no obligation. Just an honest conversation about what would help.
