Our care services
Dementia care at home
Familiar faces and familiar routines, in the home someone already knows. We support people living with dementia across Plymouth, Torbay, Newton Abbot and Teignmouth.

- Visits from one hour up to twenty-four hours a day
Regulated by the Care Quality Commission. See our rating and the full inspection report.
What help looks like
Dementia changes what helps and what does not, often week to week. The list opposite is a starting point, not a fixed package.
We will talk it through with you at a free home visit, and nothing is agreed until you are happy with it.
Not sure where to start?
Most families ring us before they have worked any of it out. That is completely normal, and a good place to begin.
Support we can help with
- Help washing and dressing, at their own pace
- Support with medication
- Meals, drinks and hydration
- Keeping to familiar daily routines
- Company, conversation and activities
- Prompting, guiding and encouragement
- Getting out and about safely
- Support for the family carer too
What helps, and what does not
Small things make a disproportionate difference. This is what our carers find works, and what tends to make a moment harder.
What helps
- A familiar routine, kept the same way
- The same faces, as much as possible
- Being asked rather than told
- Time, without hurrying
- Talking about what is remembered, not testing it
What tends not to
- Correcting or contradicting
- Rushing a decision
- Moving familiar things around
- Several people talking at once
- Asking questions that test memory
How care starts
You get in touch
Call us or send an enquiry. Tell us as much or as little as you like.
A free home visit
We come out to understand what is needed, at no cost and with no obligation.
Your care plan
We write a plan around the person, and you approve it before anything starts.
Care begins
We introduce your carers, and the plan is reviewed as needs change.
“My mum suffers from Alzheimer’s and requires varying support — prompting, guiding and encouragement to participate in activities. The service is supportive and stimulating; I feel reassured that when mum is with them she is safe and enjoying the company.”
Mandy, Torquay
Questions families ask us
Do your carers have dementia training?
Yes. We are Purple Angel Dementia Aware, and our carers are trained in supporting people living with dementia. Please ask us about it when we visit.
Mum does not think she needs help. What then?
That is very common, and it is worth a conversation rather than a decision. Ring us and we will talk through what has worked for other families, with no pressure either way.
Can you support more complex needs alongside dementia?
Yes. As well as everyday support we help with physical disabilities, challenging behaviour, associated mental health needs and other complex needs.
Is there support overnight?
Yes, we have a night care service. You can read about the options on our Night Time Care page.
What will it cost?
Care is priced by what is actually needed, so there is no single figure we can honestly put on this page. What we can do is explain what shapes the cost, and point you to the funding routes that might apply.
Could you do this work? We are recruiting carers across Devon, and no experience is needed to start.
Ready to talk about dementia care?
There is no pressure and no obligation. Just an honest conversation about what would help.
